Roll Call! 10:29 PM

I would love to use this thread to see how many of us are trudging this HMR road. Just reply and check in. My name is Kerry AKA "Innerthin". I have been in the way of life since December 17th 2004. Looking for others that want to support each other on line!

I love this program. I have 40 pounds to lose and I really need to get it off!! I have been on the program for 6 weeks and have lost 16 pounds. I am really impressed with the results. I eat the cereal and a banana in the morning. At lunch I have a vegie and an entree. Later in the day I'll have a shake. At dinner I'll have an entree, vegies or fruit and then later that night a shake if I need it. I am totally full and doing fine with the program. If anyone out there has some good shake ingredients I'd love to try it!! Stay focused, we can do this!!!!

Today is Wednesday April 14, 2010. I am starting HMR tomorrow. I lost 60 pounds on the shakes over five years ago but lost control after 3 months. I gained the 60 back plus 30 more. I'm sticking to the shakes because it's just easier to not think about it. If you are reading this and considering the bars, don't do it. They're of the devil. If you're thinking of doing this diet and it's within three months of today, you won't be alone! Good luck!

I will be starting the HMR at home program Monday or Tuesday and would love to be a part of an online support group. But I know nothing about chat rooms. Will this be where to start a group and post messages or do we have to start a different site?
I have done the HMR program before and love it. It is the only way that I seem to be able to lose weight and keep it off for long periods of time.

This is Day 6 of shakes at home on my own. Second time around and I will lose it again. The trick will be maintance. I knew this the first time too and got sucked back into my old eating habits. I'm looking for any support and willing to offer it too. I enjoy this topic and will be checking back. One trick I use is to think of shake related songs such as Shake it up by the cars -the whole shake it up is good to have running through my head during the day. It is the corny things that can help :)

I have lost nearly 100 pounds twice on the medically supervised program at a hospital near me. I can't say that this progrm doesn't work because it does. My big problem is me; Each time I kept the weight off for about a year, get off track at a family reunion or something similar, then I just can't seem to keep it off once I introduct too many foods into my life. I am going it alone this time. the hospital only lets you do the program twice in your lifetime. You can lose weight however you do you it. Either just the shakesl a combo of their foods and shakes, or shakes and one healthy meal of protein 1 exchange of whole grain carb. The only thing I need to stay away from is the bars. They taste too much loike a chocolate bar and theijust don't last long enugh. i would like a buddie or two for support or everyone here fro that matter. I think it is the most important thing, support. Don't think for a minute that my inability to keep weight off successfully in the past is a failing of this diet. It is not. I even took longer to do the mauintenance. I just need to accept that I need a plan for life.

Hello!! I've done the medically supported HMR program before and did well. Of course, when I stopped, I started eating badly and the weight came back, plus some. Every diet works, all it is is calories in vs calories out, but there is some comfort (for me) in doing something a little more structured like HMR. I hated the classes, and the condescending skinny instructors, so I'm going to try doing the program again, just this time, at home.

Looking forward to getting to know you all.

I'm thinking about trudging this road again. I did it 2 years ago and experienced great success. I lost a 100lbs and have nearly put all of it back on. I want to get back in the box again. Losing the weight was fairly simple with the program, it is keeping it off that is the hard part.

I lost 45lbs. on this program and started to feel alive again. I broke out in an itchy rash and the allergist said I was allergic to soy! Now what! Anybody have any ideas? Is the 120 or 500 shakes low in soy? UGH! I can feel it creeping back on again now that I stopped the program. SOS

Hi, everyone! I just started the Healthy Solutions Quick-Start program today. I went through the medically supervised weight loss program twice but regained everything and more. I know the program absolutely works if you stick to it, so don't give up and don't give in. I lost over 100 pounds both times I went through the program. It just takes commitment to the program. I am not happy for letting myself gain everything back and am retaking control of my health for a better me. Stick with it and you will be very happy.

Am just beginning week 17. Have lost 43 pounds so far, but I really thought it would go faster. Switched over to Healthy Solutions 3 weeks ago because I was craving salad! I am not really liking the 120 shakes as much as the 500 shakes. Trying to hang on until the 6 month mark and/or 50 pounds if weight loss continues to be this slow. Then maybe will take a bit of a break on my own. I have spent major $$$ since Ocober on this diet!

I just started on the program, I eat the oatmeal for breakfast with my prunes and yogart. Then at lunch I eat a salad and drink a shake. I have fruit ont he side. For dinner I eat healthy chicken and either have pudding then or a bar. I work out on the treadmill everyday for 30 minutes and weights 5 days a week. I have 30 pounds to lose. Will I lose if I am not doing the entries?

I weigh tonight. I have been through the supervised weight loss twice. Losing 90 one time and 30 the second. I lost control and gained 60 back. Back in maintenance, lost 20 through Thanksgiving and Christmas. I just have to control my Calorie intake. I think logging your calories is the most important part of the diet. Let's stay in the box this week.

Down a total of 34 pounds now. Will probably not lose this week because I had a big drop of 6 pounds last time. First time I can say I lost over 6 pounds during the holidays! LOL This is usually the point where all other diets have stopped being effective. Hope this one is different. Have only been out of the box once in 14 weeks.

Hey there! I have to remember to come here and read the posts more often. Things are going well. I am doing OK. I am trying to get in my water which has been hard for me. Hard to drink water when it is freezing cold out. Summer time for me is much easier. The food is great! I love the cereal with a shake mixed into it! That was SO SO good! I did go out of the box on Sat.....had a planned event with my friends. I hardly ever get out with them so I knew in advanced I would be going out of the box. Maybe in 3 months from now when we go out again, I will think differently. I had my mid week call in today and when I told her she reminded me about if I don't stay in the box, that I will be moved over to maintence side....didn't know that. Anyway, I am in the box and doing well. With PA's I need to go to the gym. Like going ..... just hard to get there with the weather right now. I have been playing the Wii with the kids....that has to be burning calories and I have been doing other things like taking one load at a time up the stairs to put away. Overall I am really excited about the program and again I think the food tastes great!

How is everyone else doing????

Hugs,
Kammy

Started the physician supervised program in early October. Down 27 pounds now. Going slower than I expected, but it has been steady. I am on the decision free program and am really missing fruits and vegetables. Finishing up my original 13 week program next week and will try to stick with the decision free until I lose 50 pounds. They told me I should lose 112, but that seems like a dream right now. After I get to 50, I think I will switch to healthy solutions so I can add fruits and veggies. I am in Chesapeake, VA and go to the Tidewater Bariatric Clinic.

So, we have to reinforce ourselves thru each other if we are going to stick with it! Everyday, exercise. Everyday have a plan. Everyday stay in the box. Everyday be strong. Good Luck BIGE

Anyone who really is serious about losing weight will be very successful in any of the HMR weight loss programs. If you are greatly overweight the medically supervised program will give you the most rapid loss plus you will be monitored by a doctor as well as a nurse. The Healthy Solutions program is awesome as well as you get to reap the benefits of vegetables and fruits along your weight loss journey. That being said, you must follow the programs 100% if you choose to go off course and tinker with off program foods you success will be compromised. My favorite thing is that if you say that you are hungry they tell you to eat more ( more of the right things that is)

Hi Kammy - I thought about what you were saying about feeding the family and making it easier. The family will be fine, they will complain but that is what families do. It is not as if they are going to go hungry and if your family is like mine they can use a little tune up on their eating skills just like me. Taking good care of your health is taking care of the family. Good luck

I posted on HMR at home and I meant to post here, so my apologies for doing it twice. I will be starting HMR 500 (shakes only) 11/28/08. It will be supervised by my doctor, and a dietician. I'm looking into having the lap-band and I need to get 30, or more lbs. off prior to surgery. I'm feeling anxious about it, I mean not having any food will be interesting, its just not a normal thing. I know it will be better for me and my health and whatever accomplishes that is for the better. I've been told the first 10 - 14 days will be very hard, but after that was told I will feel as if its normal, and my body will adapt. I welcome any comments, or thoughts from those that have been through this. I'm glad I found a website with what looks like great support, and tips. Happy Thanksgiving!

Hi everyone! I am thinking about doing this diet.....and would love to hear from everyone the good....the bad....and everything in between. I would be doing one of the Dr. supervised programs...I think the one where you can have vegetables and fruits. I think I would really miss them and it would make it a bit easier for me to feed the rest of the family at the same time.

Please send me all your comments on the HMR program! Thanks in advanced!

I was "hit n miss" for a few weeks but then committed fully (05/01/08) to HMR 800: 5 packets daily meal replacement supervised by my PCP. Exercise has ramped up to walking 12 miles a week and have just begun (07/01/08) Boflex Home Gym moderate workout routine to maintain muscle. Lost 40lb and three clothing sizes. My goal is 100lb more before going into maintenance mode. So far there has not been any slip-ups or even a temptation. I just stay focused on the routine and don't make ANY compromises that might jeopardize the momentum.

Hello all who have just began the journey. The most important thing to remember is following the program. Trust me, when you try to change it to create your program it does not work. Planning and problem solving around your busy lives will be the key to your success. I know for most of us it is hard to put our needs as top priority, but the time has come to be selfish so that you can succeed with your weight loss goals. Do not let anything stand in the way of you and your goals. Enjoy a great big thick shake!!

Hi everyone.
I am on day 5 in a Doctor Supervised program. The first few days were pretty tough but it seems to be getting easier. I have an active life so my toughest challenge has been to drink on a schedule throughout the day. I am doing shakes only at least for the first two weeks per our Dietician. Anybody have any suggestions on how to keep a schedule when you are always busy? Oh yeah, the too busy is how I ended up here in the first place. Would appreciate tips.

This program does work extremely well if you do the it the way it is supposed to be done, aka no cheating. Doing the Healthy Solutions ( 3 shakes, 2 entrees and 5 veggies/fruits) is a very filling low-fat, low-calorie way to lose weight. The thing I like best is that I can have more shakes and that I can eat unlimited fruits and veggies. This really works so stick with it and give it your all. It helps to drink all that water too!

I have completed 5 weeks and lost 31 lbs. What I feel has helped is the fact that I sip my shakes or soup slowly just to give enough time to register being full. I try exercising but, nothing strenuous 6 times a week. I definitely make sure that I drink my liquids which include Arizona Green Tea(blueberry and Ginsing) Diet. I would be happy to converse within anyone. I feel quite motivated.

Salty, crunchy IS possible!
2 soups and 4 tablespoons of water, pour on a glass plate sprayed with PAM and spread as well as you can. Microwave for 2.5 minutes, flip and microwave again for 30-60 seconds. Let cool, break into pieces (this is in a newsletter here at the site). Add whatever spice additives you like before cooking, garlic, italian seasonings.. they're great!

Hi I started HHM almost 3.5 weeks ago. I attend weekly classes and on my third weigh in/class night I was down 12 pounds. I really had a hard time at first because I was lactose intolerent and didn't really know it till I began drinking all the shakes. Now I'm on the 70 shakes and those are working great. Well staying in me great I should say. The only hard thing about this diet so far is there is no salty crunchie anything. I am sure hoping they package some sort of pretzil or popcorn or something! Look forward to hearing from all of you.

I know there are a lot of us going thru this and I know I can succeed. I only have 70 more to go so I CAN DO THIS!!
If anyone reading this is from the Las Vegas area, give a shout out!!

I'm doing a Doctor supervised program. I have 58 pounds to loose because of family history my Doctor put me in the program. I visit a dietician once a month and blood work is also done. I started Feb. 4th, 2008. I'm an active stay at home mom and still have to cook and food shop for my family. This is going to be difficult since I'm also a gourmet chef. I need your support in that sence, I'm around food constantly. I've lost 4 pnds since yesterday, is this for real!!!!. I'm determined to stay on it, with results like that. I'll will share the info from my Dietician visits with you guys, we can all learn together.
Till next time.

Well I am going to start again. I was in the box for a lot of months last year. Between Jan. & Aug. I lost 75 lbs. Went on a cruise, got out of the good habits & PA afterwards & have gained 40 lbs back. Not liking "me" much right now. I am starting again on Monday, Feb.4, 2008. I will do the 800 shakes & one or two entrees w/biking & walking for PA. Somebody please wish me good thoughts. I do this at home on my own w/o classes. Hubby is very supportive. I looked & felt great even at my low of 211. Everyone in my small town noticed & commented. Now thankfully they are not saying "Wow, you are gaining again, huh?" My email is warmbreez3@yahoo.com. Please put "Solutions for Life" in the subject box if you email me. Best wishes to all my partners in weight loss!

Kelli,

Hang in there!!
I did not realize you are on shakes only. That is a tough one.. I could not do it, but many others have. How long do you want to stay on shakes only?

A little change of pace, (and it may satisfy your urge to eat) is to make a 'crepe. I have the recipe posted here and if you use some sugar free Torani syrup, it changes the flavor and makes it nice.

Good luck, email when you need to

SHIRATAKI NOODLE REPY FROM MY TRAINER

Sorry this has taken so long to get back to you. On these kinds of issues, I like to consult with other trainers and we are very busy here with the final work for the training. Our dietician did check out the noodles . The bottom line for weight loss is that they are food. To be in the box, you need v/f or MR and condiments to help flavor foods. I know we allow condiments that are very low in calories like fat free cool whip to go with pudding. This might seem like a zero calorie noodle would stretch out a stew for example but the noodle is food and just allows folks to expand the box when we are trying to shrink it.
These would be curious good options in maintenance to expand variety with 1's, 2's and 3's.

Hi,

I love to experiment... LOL
Do you like crepes? take a shake, 70 or 800, add 4 tblsp of water or syrup or a combo of both. Spray a plate with pam and pour the shake on it, (It will be thick, difficult to spread, dont worry, cooking will spread it out) microwave for 2 1/2 min, flip it over and heat for 30 min more. fill with whatever you like , (legal of course LOL), roll and eat!

I've been doing the HMR at Home plan since June 1, 2007. This is a great plan, I have lost over 130 pounds. I have tried dieting before but it never worked for me. On the plan I walk for 45 minutes each morning, and just stay in the box with what I eat. I feel so much better. Just wished I had known about the program years ago.

Hi! I started HMR at home on Nov. 15. With the support of a my friend Amy, that is also doing HMR at home. It is so much easier following the program with someone for support. There are times that I struggle, and Amy is there for me. With encouragement for each other. I love the program and have dropped 22lbs so far....Amy is down 19lbs........So being off to a good start is great. Remember everyday is a new adventure, it's what you make of the day. HI,
Congrats on a great decision!

I am checking this out with my educator, but if you are on decision free, no. Healthy solutions I don't see why not since the glucomannan is plant or vegetable, but I will wait until I hear from my educator. I will post the reply when I get it

Good luck!

Hi! Everyone! I have been doing HRM for one week. Feeling good. I have read all replies. Thanks, awesome info. I have a question. does anyone know if we can eat shirataki noodles? those are the ones that are:
* made of naturally water soluble fiber with no fat, sugar, or starch.
* contain zero net carbohydrates and zero calories, no gluten -made of a healthy natural fiber called Glucomannan.
* wheat & gluten free.
* Easily absorbs the flavors of any soup, dish, or sauce.

Missing cinnamon sticks? Try these!!
Ingredients:
1 medium-sized butternut squash (about 2 lbs. -- large enough to yield 14 oz. uncooked flesh)
1 cup Fiber One bran cereal (original); ground to a breadcrumb-like consistency in a blender or food processor (can omit if nto on maintenance- works just as well)
1/3 cup water
1/4 cup Splenda No Calorie Sweetener, granulated
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1/8 tsp. salt (optional- I didnt use it and the were fine)

For Dipping:
1/2 cup sugar-free maple syrup (optional- can use Torani Sugar Free syrups)

Directions:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Use a sharp knife to remove the ends of the squash. Cut it in half widthwise (making it easier to manage), and then peel squash halves using a vegetable peeler or a knife. Cut squash in half lengthwise, and then scoop out all the seeds. (Note: for exact nutritionals, measure out and use 14 oz. of squash.)

Next, cut squash into french fry shapes. Using a paper towel, pat squash pieces firmly to absorb any excess moisture.

Place cereal breadcrumbs in a large container. Add Splenda, cinnamon and salt, and mix well. In a separate medium-sized dish, combine water and vanilla extract. Spray a baking pan with nonstick spray.

Toss squash pieces in the water until they are all evenly covered. One by one, coat squash pieces with the breadcrumb mixture and lay them flat on the baking pan. ( I put on a rack so I didnt have tot urn them )

Place in the oven, and bake for about 10 minutes. Flip fries over, and return to the oven for about 10 more minutes, or until outsides are crispy and squash is tender. (Cooking time will vary depending on how thick your fries are.) (Mine took about 30 min. I guess I cut them too thick)

I just got out of the kitchen, experimenting with the oatmeal.

If you take a pkg of oatmeal and half the recommended water, mix it together well and let it sit for about 3 minutes, you can put it in the bottom of a dish and bake it, making a pie crust. I did it for a chocolate crme pie (chocolate HMR70 with 2 T of cheesecake pudding) and banana crme pie, Vanilla HMR70 2 T cheesecake and a banana. Worked real well

I also took, 3 oatmeal, approx 11/4 cup hot water, 4 chocolate HMR 70 and a can of pears w/splenda.(juice included) Put the pears and 70 in bullet mixed well, put in bowl, Put the oatmeal thru the blender too and mixed them all together, then baked it for 30 min. WOW great taste.

Also did a pumpkin pie. 4 hmr 70 with a cup of canned pumpkin and half a pkg cheesecake pudding. Mix together and bake until set.

Enjoy

I am on so many email lists and getting so many great "LEGAL" recioes or ones I can weak and make legal, I love it. I also need to keep an eye out for things for hubby and am geetin good at that so when I go on maintenance I should be a pro LOL.

I made the cheese danish and it was amazing! i slices some fresh apples on top and a touch of pumpkin pie spice and it was so good. I like it better chilled. Thanks so much!
I just made some foccaccia and used it as a wrap around my BBQ chicken entree with a bunch of veggies and it was so filling and made me feel like i was cheating!
ok 31 pounds down- gotta weigh in tonite...wish me luck.
how long have you done it and how much have you lost?

Yes, I meant sugar free/ fat free pudding mix.. sorry
Appetizers... You can make chip dip with ff sour cream and slice potatoes and sweet potatoes real thin and bake them like chips.
OR my husband calls this his Nachos.

Thin slice potatoes or sweet potatoes, line a PAM sprayed casserole dish with them, top with fat free refried beans, turkey chili, onions, canned tomatoes (drained), enchilada saouse and bake. serve with ff sour cream and guacamole. You can also put in sliced peppers if you like.

you can grill or broil vegetables on tooth picks or wooden skewers, using cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, peppers, eggplant, onions, etc.

mix 500 or 800 with the oatmeal and diet lemon lime soda and make into tiny cookies.

Good luck

Hi. This is the qmail-send program at dslextreme.com.
I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses.

Here is my reply to you :-)
Congrats on the weight loss.
I have been on the program 1 year and have lost 100 pounds so far. 70 more to go. My husband lost 90 pounds. You can do it.
I am 53 and never lost more then 50 pounds. This program works because it is a total package.
Cheese danish..
HRM 70 and 500 ( 2 each, your choice of flavor) Approx 12-15 oz diet 7 up (or any lemon lime or light soda) enough to make it pasty but not runny.
1 box fat free sugar free cheese cake pudding
Mix together, pour into a small corning ware dish (8x8) sprayed with Pam.
Top with sugar free pie mix or well drained sugar free fruit. Can also use fresh fruit.
Bake 30-45 minutes.
This recipe works well with lemon pudding mix to make lemon bars. All kinds of variations are good.
My husband is the 'inventor' and pizza is next in line for him. He was supposed to do it last week, but tangled with a patient and broke his ankle and leg so it will be a bit. I will keep your email and let you know how he makes out.
You didn't say if you were on decision free or healthy solutions. Here are a few more things we have tried.
We have done stuffed peppers- cut the peppers in half and fill with any of the entrees. Nuke or bake
Shepherds pie- shred a potato. Put turkey chili and onions in coated pan and top with shredded potatoes. Bake
I have taken just about all the entrees, put them thru the food processor with soup and made bisques. Really fills me when I am hungry.
2- 5 bean casseroles in a crock pot with about 1- 1.5 cups water. Let stew for about 2 hours. Add 2 savory chicken and a bag of frozen mixed vegetables and an envelope of soup mix. Let stew for another 2-3 hours..... really good. Can season it up if you like spicy food.
You can slice eggplant or zucchini and place under the top piece of lasagna and bake.
I make a lot of casseroles with 1 or 2 entrees, a can of diced flavored tomatoes, assorted vegetables. Bake or nuke.
Smart and Final sells sugar free Torani syrups to make a lot of different flavored shakes, mousses, etc. You can also order on line from www.Syrup2u.com, they will deliver to your house on orders of 12 bottles or more.

HI everyone.
I have been on the program for 11 months and LOVE it. I have lost almost 100 pounds and my husband has lost 90 and is in maintenance. This is the BEST program for weight loss going. I love the support and education you get from the classes. I attend in Las Vegas Nevada but love this site for information and recipes. I make chesse danish every week so I can 'eat' a shake in the morning. We make cookies, cake and all sorts of things to satisfy the sweet tooth. There is no limit to what you can do with these products. your imagination is the only limiting factor. Good luck to all.

Hi Pammy.

I came across the HMR site and found your post. It seems rather lonely here.

I haven't yet started the program but did email a request for a consultation. Do you find the program support to be helpful? Have you done the program before? Do you prefer group or home setting?

I'm not sure I'll be able to swing a meeting due to my job and distance from the clinic, but I'm checking into it. I have 50-60 pounds to lose...again. I know I will lose it and keep it off this time...slow learner, I guess.

Blessings and Much luck on your journey!

I'm glad to finally find others who are trying this as well. I am officially starting the HMR diet on Tues. 7/17, when I attend my 1st introduction class. I am looking at losing about 70 lbs. so I chose to do the Decision Free diet. I sort of think I should have chose the Healthly Solutions only because of the extra fruits and vegetables. I bought a few meals to try them. I started today by trying a vanilla shake and a few of the meals (turkey chili and chicken pasta). I must say the shake almost made me gag because of the aftertaste and the food was very bland. That said though, I am used to spicing my food and I know that I need to do this. So...I guess I'll get used to the shakes :) If anyone would like to email me to give some support or if you need a weightloss buddy, that would be great.

I am on week 4--or actually today is the start of week 5. Down 12 lbs, am proud of me, but boy do I need to hear of others' successes! This is hard, and this is the last resort for me because I have tried every other program under the sun. This HAS to work! Maybe driving 1 1/2 hrs. one-way to meetings every week will keep me on this, just so that I can get the weight off and go to maintenance and not have to drive (then can do the At Home program).

Well I am discouraged..doing this alone as no clinic or center nearby. I have lost an AMAZING 30 lbs in first 3 weeks but hit week 6 yesterday (my 36th birthday) and still stuck at 30 lbs of weight loss. I have about 120 lbs to go to my goal weight. I can only rationlize that somehow my (stubborn) body has adjusted to my lower caloric intake and if there is ever a faminine I will SURVIVE.

I have been cheating somewhat on weekends (with small slices of lean meat or piece of whole wheat toast or diet coke and captain morgan (20 calories no carbs) but still ALWAYS keep my calories under 1000 for the day).

While I know that the addition of extra calories slows down my weight loss is it possible that the shakes themselves need to stay in some type of "perfect" balance to remain effective?

I can only think yes as I have seemed to have just stopped losing weight the last two weeks despite keeping my calories greatly reduced?

I do appear to still be losing inches as my clothes continue to fit better and better but I wonder if this is pure muscle mass not fat loss (although even if so should I not still be seeing a difference on the scale?).

Thanks for any insight anyone can offer and if you are looking for someone to email to vent or gain support I am as well so please feel free to email!!

I have a lot of weight to lose so I'm in it for the long haul.

I have been on and off (more off than on) for about 6 months now. I am finding it hard to stick to it completely. At work I seem to do ok but when it comes to the weekends it seems like it is a losing battle. I would love some email and IM support. Any ideas for how to handle the weekends would be great too....

Hi Everyone,
My husband and I just received our order today and we are ON OUR OWN! We are not taking a class. We joined TOPS and will weigh in there on Mondays. I did this years ago and was successful on it - but I ended up after losing 36 pounds rapidly having gallstones and had to have my gallbladder removed.I ended up OFF the program due to the doctor pulling me for the surgery and recovery and LET ME TELL YOU ONCE YOU GET OFF THE PROGRAM IT is VERY hard to get back - that is what happened to me. I didn't want to go back because I had TASTED FOOD AGAIN that was OUT OF the box. I am hoping to lose a substantial amount of weight. Both my husband and I would like to lose 100 pounds. I need to get exercising and will use my skills that were taught to me by my councilor years ago when on the program. I am hoping that I will stick to this. Scratch that - that is already negative thinking right? like I am saying "hoping" I will say I WILL stay on this program and lose the weight. I am sending positive skinny vibes to all on this site. I will start in the morning. Wish me luck! :D BETH (or anyone else) - if you want to email each other for encouragement and help to keep each other honest etc...let me know :D I think it would be great and positive for both of us.
Monica

I'm on my own! My personal physician is monitoring me and I buy my food online, so I'm missing the interaction and support of a group. My nearest group is 1.5 hrs away and their call-in was on an inconvenient night. I'm in the L.A. area, anybody else out there in my position? Oh, by the way, just started the program...Beth

I would love some email support. I have been in HMR for 7 weeks, working on week 8. I have lost 17 lbs so far (36 lbs to go). I have a hard time getting in the PA, which results in a slower weight loss. Also, I know they say more is better, but I am not hungry after eating my 3 shakes and 2 entrees, (Iam not doing fruits and vegetables). Thanks for the imput and look forward to receiving emails.

Hi KC -- I've been on the VLCD since 1/4/05 and have lost 45 lbs. but I'm thinking of changing into either maintenance or Healthy Solutions or HMR at home -- which program are you on -- and how is it going. You are awfully brave to begin in before Christmas!

Hello Kim,
Our HMR at- Home program is a great way for people to participate in an HMR program if they do not have a clinic in their area or if there is a conflict with a clinic's class times. On this program you would have a minimum of 3 shakes, 2 entrees, and 5 fruits/veggies per day. Class members call into a weekly conference call where they participate in a group with other classmates. No lab work is required since you are not medically supervised. My personal favorite thing about this program is that it allows you to have the support of a group, yet you can stay in the comfort of your own home!
We offer no-obligation informational orientations where you can learn more details about this program.
Anyone can call us for more info at 1-800-521-9054.
I hope this answers some of your questions!
Have a great day!!

Hi! I'm totally new to this website and the HMR program. I am also desperately trying to lose 100 pounds. The extra weight that I'm carrying around has set off a chain reaction to all my other problems, like high blood pressure, sleep anea, etc...I would really like to have someone to email, so that I can offer encouragement and get encouragement and gain more knowledge about this program. My email address is kaijackson@hotmail.com
THANKS!

Hi! I just went to the local orientation in my area tonight. I wondering if the HMR at home will be best for me. Can you tell me if you have to get all the lab work done and the physicals to do it?
I hope to be on here telling my success stories ;o)

I've been on this program for five weeks, and have lost 16.8 pounds so far. It has been easy to stick to.

A hint for getting exercise in is to do little amounts at a time; 5 minutes, then going back later and doing another 5 minutes will quickly add up.

Good luck everyone!
