I've started lifting weights and not sure how to really figure out my PA calories. I work really hard and break a sweat. What's the best way to calculate calories burned.

| Does anyone know where I can get the record-keeping page to copy (the one with calories in, PA out for the week to then figure it out at the end of the week)? I'm not in class right now so have no access to materials

In response to the thought that ircuit Training may burn 200 calories an hour....that might be a very low "guesstimate". Here is part of an article I had found at one time:
"The circuit-training workout offered at Denver-based fitness franchise 1-2-3 Fit burns more than 450 calories in 30 minutes, according to a study released by The American Council on Exercise (ACE)."
Weightlifting does typically involve more rest between sets, if you are doing a "bodybuilding" type routine. For fat loss it might be better to do Circuit Training or Interval Training, that involves a full body workout, rather than focusing on isolating specific muscle groups.

| I left frequently and find a difference between lifting and circuit training; lifting has more rest periods. Try figuring 100 cal/hr for lifting and 200 cal/hr for circuit training. Next time you lift, try timing the actual time spent lifting. Then you can gauge whether that is your standard routine and figure accordingly for future workouts.
